Job Title: Junior Telephony Technician Department: Telecommunications Reports to: Senior Telephony Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our telecommunications team as a Junior Telephony Technician. In this role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telephony systems and equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of telecommunication systems, enabling effective communication across our organization.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation and configuration of telephony systems, including hardware, software, and network components.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system upgrades, software patches, and firmware updates.
Monitor and troubleshoot telephony systems, identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
Respond to service requests and support tickets related to telephony systems, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
Collaborate with the senior telephony technician and other team members to diagnose and resolve complex telephony problems.
Conduct testing and quality assurance checks on telephony systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Provide user support and training on telephony equipment, features, and functionalities.
Maintain accurate documentation of telephony systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to telephony systems.
Adhere to security protocols and guidelines to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of telecommunication systems and data.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. additional technical certifications or coursework in telecommunications is a plus.
Prior experience in a similar role or exposure to telephony systems is preferred.
Basic knowledge of telephony technologies, including PBX systems, VoIP, SIP, and analog/digital telephony.
Familiarity with networking concepts, such as IP addressing, LAN/WAN, routers, and switches.
Proficiency in using telephony testing tools and diagnostic equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records.
