Required FinOps owner
About the Role:
As a FinOps owner, you will be a part of our DevOps group and own for several financial operational responsibilities such as tracking and publishing analysis of our systems operational costs, participating in negotiation with third-party vendors and maintaining a business relationship with them, and designing and implementing cost saving initiatives.
You will work closely with developers and DevOps engineers to track and optimize costs, as well as other stakeholders in the organization such as CFO.
What youll do:
Handle consumption, billing, renewals for R&D tools and operational third party dependencies including development tools, cloud subscriptions and AI tools
Generate visibility of COGS by fusing information from multiple sources, and projecting them in various forms
Identify cost hot spots and opportunities to optimize
Manage cadence and track projects for cost reduction
Liaison with other stakeholders in the organization on various finance matters

Requirements:
Good understanding of SaaS cost management: cost allocation, forecasting, unit economics
Experience in running periodic cost reviews and maintaining cost optimization programs
Good understanding of cloud vendor billing options and SKU offerings, credit programs, committed use programs across at least AWS and GCP
Proficiency in operating cloud provider billing and reporting tools
Proficiency in data analysis, productivity and enterprise automation tools including spreadsheets and SQL.
Ability to create solid dashboards and spreadsheets for democratizing information about system costs
Ability to understand complex system architectures
Coding capabilities are a benefit.
