Key job responsibilities
– Define and drive the technical vision for embedded systems projects, including architecture, performance targets, and technology adoption – grounded in hands-on understanding of the codebase and system constraints.
– Actively contribute to technical design reviews, code reviews, and prototyping efforts, maintaining credibility as a technical peer to your engineers.
– Guide cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, software, QA) to deliver robust, scalable embedded solutions, with the ability to unblock teams by personally engaging in deep technical problem-solving when needed.
– Plan and prioritize project schedules and resource allocation to meet deadlines, customer requirements, and ensure high-quality standards.
– Mentor and develop SW engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing – leading by example through your own technical contributions.
Basic Qualifications
– 7+ years of engineering experience.
– Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
– 6+ years of experience with C programming
– 6+ years of engineering team management experience
Preferred Qualifications
– Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
– Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
– Master's degree
– Experience in engineering
